Welcome to Church House Barn Holiday Cottage
If you’re looking for a luxury break in a quiet corner of Cumbria, with the beautiful countryside of the Solway Coast and the Lake District national park on your doorstep, then Church House Barn is for you. This recently converted barn offers a unique setting and comfortable self-catering accommodation for up to four guests in the peaceful North Cumbrian village of Newton Arlosh. The village still has a traditional pub (The Joiners Arms) and is known for its medieval church and a friendly welcome.
Church House Barn is a unique holiday cottage that forms part of Church House Farm, a working farm in the 19th century and now a peaceful location for your rural escape.
The accommodation is laid out in reverse with a double bedroom and en-suite shower room, a twin bedroom and a family bathroom on the ground floor. Upstairs, a spacious open plan living area includes a modern kitchen, dining area and comfy sofas in a lounge that has French doors opening on to a Juliet balcony. You can enjoy views across the fields to the coast and beyond to Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland.
Inside and Outside this unique holiday cottage in Cumbria
Inside, Church House Barn has been sympathetically converted to a luxury standard with lots of its original features and character. You can expect a cosy welcome (plenty of insulation, full gas central heating and double glazing) and a light and airy feel with modern furnishings and fittings.
Outside, this unique luxury cottage is set within the gardens of Church House Farm. There is a sheltered private seating area for use by guests and, in the shared farm courtyard, there is a traditional well where water was once drawn for the farm. You’ll discover the stables for our four-legged residents, two Shetland ponies, as well.
