How about a tootle around Bowness on Solway
How about a tootle around Bowness on Solway. (15 mins away from the barn) It's the start/end of Hadrian's Wall Walk.
Here you will also see the remains of the old viaduct, which used to have trains going to Scotland. Sadly, closed in 1931, the Scottish used to walk across or use the train to have a drink in Cumbria, because you couldn't drink on a Sunday in Scotland.
Also, see the cows on the beach, and have a coffee and cake in the two cafes or in the pub.
Lovely seaside walk, and a quaint village.
